What is Performance Equine Bodywork?
Your Horse works hard for you.
Reward your Horse with Performance Equine Bodywork.
The Masterson Method releases tension and soreness in the Horse by moving the major junctions through their range of motion in a relaxed state, allowing the Horse to actively participate in the work of releasing tension. It is a combination of movement exercises, acupressure, meridian releases, massage techniques, craniosacral and myofascial releases that helps your horse find relief from accumulated stress and tension. Performance Equine Bodywork is a great way to warm up or cool down your horse after a workout or event. Bodywork can be excellent support during recovery from injury, competition, and travel.
Stimulus and Response
The beauty of the Masterson Method is its respect for the horses natural response to pressure, and emphasis on watching for the subtle changes in the Horse as I work. The contact is gentle, allowing the horse to move and release tension by moving through a normal range of motion in a position of comfort. As they do, releases begin to occur. From a softening of they eye, sighing, licking and chewing of the lips, shaking and yawning are all signs of relaxation. How do we know it works? The Horse tells us. Stimulus and response is how we train our horses, and the bodywork techniques used key in to the sensitivity and responsiveness of the Horse.
Balance through movement
I’ve had the good fortune of being trained and certified by Celeste Lazaris, a biomechanical lameness specialist, skilled in equine movement and muscle development, and a pioneer for developing the Balance Through Movement Nerve Release techniques - releasing suspected nerve compressions in the horse that cause restrictions and undiagnosed lameness
